The object of the study is national security as a necessary element of the stability of modern society. The subject of the study is economic security as the most significant segment of national security that determines the sustainability and development of modern society. The purpose of the study is to reveal the content of the category of economic security in connection with the social stability of modern Russian society. Research results: 1. The content of the stability of socio-economic systems is disclosed; 2. The content of the elements of economic security as a factor of countering the sanctions pressure of Western countries is disclosed; 3.
