The relevance of the research lies in the fact that although these concepts are interrelated and play an essential role in maintaining the stability and development of society, the transformation of the social formation and the geopolitical structure requires a scientific search for new ways and strategies of protection and mechanisms for maintaining social stability. The object of research is the information society; the subject of the study is information security as a factor of social stability. The purpose of the study is a theoretical analysis of the content of information security as a basis for the formation of social stability. The study argues that information security refers to the state of the information environment and the availability of information in society, forming a social space on the basis of state sovereignty and national ideology, which ensures the social effectiveness of the internal policy of the state.<\/p>\r\n<p><strong>Keywords:<\/strong> social cohesion, social efficiency, society, information,
